Ecologists say it’s unethical to let them starve to death and ending the culling would make it worse

This week media coverage in Australia and around the world has highlighted observations by leading ecologists who describe how the three-year influence of La Nina on the east coast of Australia has created an ideal growth environment for kangaroos. The result is the acceleration of the breeding cycle which potentially is leading to a population of up to 60 million kangaroos, exceeding Australia’s human population by more than 2.3 times.
